Nourishing
Traditions, by Sally Fallon and Mary G. Enig, Ph.D. (ISBN 0967089735)
 |
This book is an education on
nutrition and a handy guide on how to actually DO it. I
appreciate its mountain of recipes. It makes nutrition
practical. Not every suggestion fits Leviticus
11, but there are literally thousands of suggestions that
do. If you read
no other books, please read this one! It is $25 but
worth every penny. You may find it cheaper at Best
Book Buys. |
What
the Bible Says About Healthy Living, by Rex Russell,
M.D. (ISBN 0830742867)
 |
This author has a very balanced
view toward the Old Testament's guidelines on health and the
New Testament's explanation of grace. This is one of my
favorite books for Christians to read. |
The Maker's Diet,
by Jordan Rubin (ISBN 0425204138)
 |
I appreciate this author,
although his suggestions are sometimes expensive. By
using Nourishing Traditions listed above, you should be
able to implement his ideas at home, for much cheaper. I
think this is a wiser course of action. |
Enzyme Nutrition,
by Edward Howell (ISBN 0895292211)
 |
While this author is not a
believer, his views explain very beautifully how much our
Master Designer loved us when He created good food for us to
eat. This book will explain much of the scientific
reasoning behind the conclusions listed in other books, yet
it's easy and enjoyable to read. This book is
convincing! |
Food
is Your Best Medicine, by Bieler (ISBN 0345351835)
 |
If you're sick, you'll be
thrilled to read about how fearfully and wonderfully made you
are. Although not a believer, this author shows how the
healthy foods God made are adequate for your healing. I
love his explanation of why we got sick in the first place,
and I'm happy to report that his guidelines follow the ones
given in God's Word. |
Nutrition
and Physical Degeneration, by Weston A. Price (ISBN 0879838167)
 |
This is a fun book to read, but
use caution as he believes in evolution. This
anthropologist traveled this world over 80 years ago and
documented what indigenous cultures ate and why. Not
everything lines up with Scriptural guidelines, but when
things did, you'll see beautifully illustrated the blessings
that can come. Available
free online here. |
